Peony Update and a Spring Themed Giveaway!

March 20, 2012

For my Peony Dress, I’ve decided to make my own bias tape. I’ve never made my own bias tape before. That involves trying to figure out how to use one of these:

Pretty crazy looking contraption, eh? My fabric that I’m attempting to make the bias tape from is really silky slippery too. Boy, I sure don’t make it easy. Wish me luck! Do you any of you sewers out there have any tips for making bias tape with one of these things?

Oh hey, by the way, did you happen to notice my spiffy printed nails in the pic above?

I picked up a pack of the new spring themed Sally Hansen nail strips when I was out the other day and they were just so cute that I went out again yesterday and picked up another… to share with one of you lucky duckies! They’re the same cute little pastel chicks that you see in the picture above. They’re fairly quick to use and kind of like decorating your nails like pretty little Easter Eggs for spring! I may even end up throwing in an extra little goody or two as a surprise.

The giveaway will start today and end at 8am MST on Monday, March 26th. The winner will be randomly chosen and announced on the blog next Tuesday, March 27th.

There are 3 different ways to enter:

1.) Required: Post a comment below sharing your spring art, crafting, or sewing goals and plans. Yay!

2.) “Like” Sweet Little Chickadee on Facebook, then post another separate comment on the blog letting me know.

3.) Follow Sweet Little Chickadee on Twitter and tweet about the giveaway making sure to reference my twitter name and a link to this blog post, then post another separate comment on the blog letting me know.

You may enter internationally, I don’t believe that there are any restrictions on shipping these. If you know otherwise, please let me know.

*** Please note: This is not a sponsored post by any means, I just thought that it would be a fun way to celebrate spring!

Good luck to everyone who enters and happy first day of spring! I’m off to finish tackling this bias tape stuff!
